Our Professional Tiling course covers the elements necessary to become a professional tiler.

Pre-Requisites
To enrol on this programme, you don’t need any previous experience, the most important requirement is a desire to learn.

Learning Method
The course is provided as practical training. You will be instructed on all elements of tiling, building your skill level up to the desired level of competency that will ultimately result in your work being up to professional standards. This is a progressive course; your ability will improve under the guidance of an experienced and highly qualified tutor.

Practical Workshops
You will be spending your time under instruction at our training centre, to complete the practical training that makes up your programme. Your progress will be discussed formally at the end of each week and you will have the opportunity to discuss in depth any course related issues with an instructor at any time during
the course.

Throughout the course you will be building a portfolio of evidence which will be used as demonstration of your competence. You will need to provide your own overalls and steel toe-capped working shoes, although these can be provided at an added cost should you need them. All necessary tools and materials will be provided.

Qualifications
After successfully completing the training you will have the opportunity to move on to a an NVQ Level 2.
You can also attain your CSCS Card.

Course Duration:
1 to 4 weeks (up to 2 years to complete the course)

Programme Details
The programme comprises practical work which can be completed at your own pace; you decide when to attend, whenever you find it convenient and practical to fit the training into your current schedule. We take into consideration factors such as your current working hours or other studies you are undertaking.

The training programme has been developed inline with construction industry requirements to provide in depth understanding of the subject matter in preparation for the working environment.

The training is designed to instil in you the fundamental skills to work with the appropriate tools and materials.

The modules include:

• Tiling areas incorporating multiple obstacles.

• Rectifying poor or uneven surfaces.

• Fixing tiles to wall areas in bathrooms and kitchens.

• Floor tiling including patterns and borders.

• Tiling for Wet Rooms.

• Octagonal patterns and wavy edge tiles.
