Professional Multi-skills Course

The Course
Our Multi-Skills Course covers the topics necessary to become a handyman or handywoman. You will be guided from a complete beginner to a level of understanding close to a domestic builder who is already enjoying
the benefits of being multi-skilled and working in
domestic properties.

The course is specifically for people who have no previous experience or wish to build a career from their previous DIY knowledge. Its aim is to provide you with the theoretical understanding and practical skills to work in a safe and responsible manner within the domestic maintenance and construction industry.

As well as a small amount of home study you will be spending 7 weeks (300 hrs) training within The Construction Training Centre of Excellence to complete the practical experience and assessments necessary. The course also includes business start-up advice and how to calculate estimates and quotes for potential customers.

The Qualifications
Students who successfully complete the training will achieve the City & Guilds 6217 qualification, which can be mapped across to elements of NVQ 1 & 2. The course includes Plastering, Painting & Decorating, Carpentry, Bricklaying and Plumbing.

This qualification is the industry standard for the domestic contractor environment. In addition to this it will allow you to work as a qualified Multi-Trades person within domestic properties and businesses.
